Programs for Entrepreneurs

Oklahoma Equity Partners (OEP)

Due to action taken by the legislature through the passage of Senate Bill 1159 during the FY'12 legislative session, this program is currently not available to make new investments in Oklahoma Companies.

In 2004, through its VIP, the Board initiated a unique investment opportunity with a $7.5 million lead commitment to Oklahoma Equity Partners (OEP).

OEP is designed to identify a wide variety of potential venture capital investment opportunities within the state. Once identified, OEP will work with the entrepreneur to package and present those opportunities to other venture investors.

OEP creates and maintains relationships with Board supported funds and other proven investors that demonstrate an interest in investing in Oklahoma companies.

“Without an organization like OCIB, some of the current OKC biotech company success stories would not have occurred. One of the most difficult hurdles for new companies - anywhere in the US - is obtaining early stage venture capital that allows them to develop their technologies for real market applications. Small companies have a chance to flourish in Oklahoma thanks to the investments of OCIB. In the case of Hyalose LLC, we were able to pay operating costs and patent expenses during a critical early period because of the OCIB investment in the Emergent-Oklahoma fund."
