Second Technology Ventures Summit Showcases Promising Technology Companies in Oklahoma

Oklahoma Capital Investment Board. October 15, 2008

TULSA, OK – Emerging Oklahoma technologies will be highlighted to angel and venture capital investors at the second annual Technology Ventures Summit (TVS). The Oklahoma Capital Investment Board (OCIB) and Oklahoma Equity Partners (OEP) recently announced the names of twelve Oklahoma startups that will be the featured presenters on the second day of the TVS. The Summit, co-hosted by OCIB, OEP and hosted by the Oklahoma Business Round Table is scheduled to run from –November 12-13 at the Downtown Doubletree in Tulsa.

Twenty-seven companies submitted proposals and went through a rigorous screening by a panel of local and state experts in the venture capital industry, said Dave Humphrey, president of OEP. “The 12 that were chosen will present a financing proposal to venture capitalists and angel investors looking for new ideas and technologies in various industries.

Humphrey says the emerging technologies were chosen from a diverse industry pool including biotechnology, media, software, and internet technology among others. Each business will be assigned two mentors to assist them with their presentations to investors. Speakers will be given 10 minutes to present their ideas as well as their plan to get their product or technology to a viable market.

“While the presentations from startups are a main focus of the TVS, the Summit also offers nationally-acclaimed training for entrepreneurs as well as angel investors,” said Humphrey. “Attendees will gain practical advice and hear examples of best practices from others in their chosen field. The TVS is also an incredible networking opportunity for both technology entrepreneurs and investors.”

Conference registration is available online at www.ocib.org/tvs.
